Mr. & Mrs. Anderson!
This wedding is so so so special to me. Why? Because it is my sister's wedding! Back in early June we traveled out to Washington, DC (our first destination wedding!) for this fun wedding weekend!
If you know Lacey then you know that she is kind, loyal and loving and deserves all the best in this world! Last summer she came home from a weekend visit with friends to her college town and told me about this great guy she had met through mutual friends named Tom. Over the next few months it was clear to see just how happy she was with Tom in her life. Tom is in the US Air Force and relocated with his two children shortly after he and Lacey met from Missouri to DC, but they made the most of the long distance situation and didn't let it get in their way.
On Easter weekend Tom proposed when Lacey was visiting him and 9 short weeks later we had planned a wedding and were in DC for the big event! There's just something about an out of town wedding weekend that I love. I think it's the fun of being surrounded by family and friends in a new location and for such a fun reason and all the memories made along the way! And the fact that everyone works together to pull off the big day! This wedding weekend definitely did not disappoint! I think we had close to 12 people staying at Lacey & Tom's house and while it was crazy at times it was so so so much fun!
Tom is from the Baltimore area and his family owns a beautiful piece of land in Maryland where his grandparents and aunts & uncles live. Since they planned to have a small wedding, Tom's uncle's barn was the perfect location to have their ceremony & reception! The theme was sunflowers, burlap and turquoise and it turned out so great! And Lacey was absolutely stunning in her dress!
One of most special moments of the day for me (and I'm sure for Lacey too) was when our Uncle Joe walked her down the aisle. Our dad passed away in 2011 so it meant a lot to have someone there to give her away in his place. As soon as Lacey stepped out onto the steps to walk down the aisle there was an audible gasp in the room - that's how stunning she was!
Lacey & Tom - I am so lucky to have you as family and feel blessed to have had the opportunity to capture your wedding! As a protective older sister it was hard for me to let go when Lacey moved, but I know you will take good care of her Tom :) Matt and I are so excited that you are part of the family now and that we also gained a niece and nephew who are amazing little people! I love you both more than you will ever know and wish you nothing but the best in life. I'm excited to see how your next adventure in Paris goes and can't wait for the lifetime of memories ahead of us that will be made on trips, during holidays and just in daily life - we are already off to a great start! Cheers!
